Remove zero values from a Google spreadsheet
Sometimes you need to see the data that is important in a Google spreadsheet - and get rid of annoying zeros, this tip helps you do just that.
In Microsoft Excel you can hide the 0 values in a spreadsheet, Google spreadsheet does not have this function yet. A clever work around though can be found by using conditional formatting.
- Select all cells (Ctrl + A) click Format > Conditional Formatting
- Use the dropdown to select Equal To and type 0
- Tick the text tickbox and change the text color to white, this will effectively hide all your zero values.

This will work, however if the numbers produced in any of these cells contains a 0, will it not be invisible making a number of, say, 102,009 look strange?

No, because your conditional formatting states the cell must be equal to zero. So a number with a zero in it will be unaffected.
