Paste as plain text

Make sure that any formatting is left behind when copying and pasting using this keyboard shortcut.

Most of the time when pasting from your clipboard into Gmail, you should strip any formatting. In the Chrome browser you can paste as plain text using Ctrl-Shift-V.

A right click menu option would work for the 97% of the rest of us without Macs and who don't *always* use Chrome as you'd like us to. For your consideration.

On a mac, it's command-option-shift-v to paste without the formatting. This is a universal command as well. works in docs, etc.
