Emphasise words in Google Chat

Add bold, italic and strikethrough text to your Google Chat conversations with these quick tips.

Sometimes you need to emphasise certain words in a Google Chat. You could use CAPS to do this, or try the following tips to format your text with bold, italics and strikethrough.

• Add an asterix around the word you wish to bold eg *bold word* = bold word
• Add an underscore around the word you wish to italicise eg _italic word_ = italic word
• Add a minus around the word you wish to strikethrough eg -strikethrough- = strikethrough
